About

Troop 152 was founded in 1930 in West Point, PA. We meet every Tuesday night from 7 to 8:30pm at the Upper Gwynedd Community Center near 1 Parkside Place, North Wales, PA 19454. And, we welcome anyone interested in joining to get in touch with us and visit a meeting!

Activities and Traditions

We camp every month of the year but December, including a week at summer camp in July. All our upcoming trips are on the calendar.

The favorite by far is our Rod & Gun weekend in April. After a safety seminar and under the supervision of NRA certified instructors and safety officers, the scouts shoot shotguns, .22 caliber rifles, archery, and BB guns. Many of the parents also take the chance to join us.

We don't go hungry on the trips, either. One of our longest traditions is making funnel cake at Summer Camp. Chris Nagele now carries the torch and joins the troop on Friday night of camp to make funnel cake for the scouts, leaders, and campstaff.

And speaking of Summer Camp, our Troop visits a different camp every year. We make sure to go to our Council Camp, Resica Falls Scout Reservation, once every 4 years. And, Goose Pond Scout Reservation always makes it's way into the rotation. But the other years, we visit many of the camps in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Maryland. For example, we have recently been to...

We have traveled to Niagara Falls, Thousand Islands, Mystic Seaport, Johnstown, Harpers Ferry, Shenendoah National Park, and hundreds of points in between. Since we camp every month of the year except December, the scouts get to experience every kind of weather and environment.

Throughout all those camping weekends and summer camps, the Troop has raised over 140 Eagle Scouts. And if you join us at the annual Holiday Party in December, you'd see! Many of the Troop's Eagles and their families come back to reminisce about old times at camp and hear about the next generation's antics.
